Two Business Partners

Josh & Morgan met while working as interior carpenters and quickly became friends, both on and off the job site. Through many discussions, they realized they shared similar interests and goals for their carpentry careers.

Through hard work & determination, Next Level Carpentry was created.

Josh’s vast experience ranges from his associate’s degree in Machine Technology to a more traditional one-on-one apprenticeship in remodeling. Josh has extensive experience in all aspects of home remodeling, such as drywall, painting, tile, framing, plumbing, and electrical. With his experience, he helped jump-start the interior division for one of Pittsburgh’s largest contracting companies. Josh brings a sense of creativity and critical thinking to all projects and believes every project deserves its own personal touch. He settles for nothing less than perfection in his work and strives to better his craft every day.

As co-owner of Next Level Carpentry, Josh believes business should be conducted the right way. Prior to starting Next Level Carpentry, Josh completed the Smart Start series for business upstarts. This experience provided him with the tools and knowledge to conduct business ethically and honestly. Together, he and his business partner, Morgan, hope to change the landscape of home remodeling and custom carpentry in Pittsburgh.

Co-Owner: Josh Amrhein

“Our mission is to bring craftsmanship and creativity together to build pieces that last a lifetime. We believe every project deserves attention to detail, quality materials, and a personal touch. From custom furniture to home renovations, we aim to make the process simple, stress-free, and enjoyable. We are here to turn your ideas into something real—something you’ll love for years to come.”

Morgan started his carpentry journey early in high school, attending a technical school to study carpentry and cabinet making. He quickly found a love for woodworking and the craftsmanship that goes into it. His first job was creating custom carpentry pieces, salvaging architectural salvage, and restoring woodworking pieces. His passion for learning led him to take a break from carpentry projects and to pursue his BSBA in Marketing. Having received his degree, he decided he wanted to take all that he learned throughout his education and use it to eventually create his own company. In meeting his friend Josh (and now business partner), he learned he not only had a good friend but someone who shared his carpentry aspirations and dreams.

As a co-owner of Next Level Carpentry, Morgan wants to bring peace of mind to his clients. He believes in ethical business practices, ethical resource sourcing, fair & honest estimates, and providing an unforgettable experience for his clients. He truly believes that a craftsman is only as good as his last job, and therefore, every job he works on, he works tirelessly to ensure it is perfect for the client.

Co-Owner: Morgan Cook

“We wanted to do more than just remodeling. We’ve always shared a love for custom woodworking and carpentry projects, and we wanted to bring that love to Pittsburgh. For us, Next Level is about taking what others might see as wasted space, old junk, broken furniture, or outdated rooms and turning them into something special—a focal point that sparks conversation. We also believe history is worth preserving, which is why we take so much pride in our salvage and restoration work.”
